Abstract
The aim of the present study is to examine and analyze the anthropological views of Seyyed Hossein Nasr and his approach to modern humanism. Nasr sees the roots of many of the crises of the modern world, from environmental destruction to widespread wars, in the fundamental transformation of “anthropology” in the modern era. In his opinion, modern anthropology has weakened the foundations of the ethics of peace by severing the connection between man and the sacred and reducing the truth of man to the material and individual realm. This article attempts to show how the modern understanding of man conflicts with the ethics of peace. The main issue is how Nasr faced modern anthropological ideas and what is the most important conflict with the ethics of peace from his perspective? Using a critical analytical method, this research aims to analyze the main characteristics of his criticism of modern anthropology and examine the main and major conflicts between modern anthropology and the ethics of peace from his perspective.
