Peer Review Process

1. Type of Peer Review

All manuscripts submitted to this journal undergo an initial screening by the editorial board. Those that pass the initial assessment are sent for review to two independent and expert reviewers in the relevant field. The peer review process is conducted as a Double-Blind Peer Review, meaning that the identity of the author(s) is concealed from the reviewers, and the identity of the reviewers is concealed from the author(s).

2. Number of Reviewers

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who have no affiliation with the journal's editorial board.

3. Peer Review Timeline

The estimated time required for the peer review process, from submission to the initial decision, is approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Authors may track the status of their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system.

4. Evaluation Criteria and Decision

Manuscripts are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Originality and innovation in the research topic and approach
  2. Rigorous and appropriate methodology for the research question
  3. Thematic significance and contribution to the scholarly discourse in the field of peace studies
  4. Structure, coherence, and quality of writing of the manuscript
  5. Commitment to research ethics and adherence to publication standards

The final decision regarding acceptance, rejection, or revision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations.

5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

In accordance with the best practices recommended by DOAJ:

  • The use of Generative AI tools for writing or evaluating manuscripts is prohibited.
  • Reviewers and editors must not use generative AI to create their peer review reports or assessments.
  • Authors are required to explicitly disclose any use of AI in their manuscript (beyond basic language correction, editing, and formatting).
  • Automated tools should not be listed as authors, and generative AI should not be cited as a source.

6. Content Subject to Peer Review

All submitted research articles are subject to peer review, with the exception of editorial notes and non-research content that are clearly marked as such. All peer-reviewed content, including guest-edited special issues, adheres to the same rigorous review standards.
