Peace and social security are closely linked to economic stability. Yet in Iran, the implications of inflation for ontological security, human dignity, and social peace have rarely been examined within a unified theoretical framework. Drawing on the concept of “silent forms of violence,” this study conceptualizes chronic inflation as a form of structural violence that undermines social security. This qualitative research is based on a systematic review of scholarly publication. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis approach. Chronic inflation in Iran operates as a “silent weapon” through mechanisms such as dispossession, declining self-worth, and the normalization of precarious living conditions. Its consequences extend beyond economic hardship to include social despair, reduced agency, weakened planning capacity, and the erosion of social trust. Furthermore, the mismatch between inflationary realities and fixed legal rules generates a form of “double legal violence,” harming vulnerable groups and reducing the effectiveness of judicial processes. Inflation in Iran is not merely a macroeconomic challenge but a threat to human dignity, social security, and sustainable peace. Inflation control should be regarded as a legal and moral obligation. Key policy priorities include strengthening central bank independence, reforming judicial procedures, and replacing subsidy-centered approaches with dignity-oriented policies.
